👩‍🏫 Altijd-de sociale kant, We'RHERE & Apis Academy Program
🎓 Education: Nieuwe Docent Modules, Education in the Netherlands
🗣️ Language: Dutch (Professional Language) B1–B2 Level

About the Program

A comprehensive preparatory program developed for highly educated immigrants who want to restart their careers in the education sector in the Netherlands. Through its peer-support methodology, We'RHERE aims to strengthen participants both professionally and socially. The "De Nieuwe Docent" (The New Teacher) program is specifically designed for highly educated newcomers with experience in the education field. Our goal is to prepare participants for the Dutch education system in the best possible way and to provide extensive guidance on opportunities and possibilities.

👥 Who Can Participate?

Priority is given to candidates who are currently receiving uitkering (income support) through the municipality. Candidates who are not in this group may also apply. Although we cannot guarantee funding, we provide all the support we can to cover the participation fee by finding alternative resources.

✨ Creating Opportunities for You and for Education

Many newcomers with a background in education are not yet fully aware of the opportunities in the Dutch education system. By introducing participants to this field in a clear and accessible way, we offer them future perspectives while also supporting their active participation in society. Within this program, participants become socially active, receive personalized coaching, and have an individual development plan created. This provides full support during the transition to employment, volunteer work, and/or further education in the field, while also contributing to reducing the teacher shortage in the Netherlands.

Additionally, in-school and out-of-school volunteer assignments and Meet & Greet events are organized. These individuals inform, inspire, and motivate. Because they have experience in the steps to be taken during the process, they are best acquainted with potential challenges and provide guidance on how to overcome them.

The program is conducted in the evenings and on weekends to align with language courses. Most classes are held in person on weekends at the following locations:

📍 Groningen, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Veenendaal, Arnhem

*If necessary, classes can be followed online by mutual agreement. Evening sessions are conducted entirely online.
